The story of Path of Exile 2 progresses through a series of quests, currently spanning six acts. In order to progress the story and reach other acts, the respective act's main questline must be completed.

There are also optional side quests, which by definition are not mandatory, but they usually give additional quest rewards after completion, with a lot of them being moreless mandatory later on.

Quests are viewed on the World Screen (Default Hotkey: U) and often require quest items.
